Meeting Minutes

1) Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m.

2) Roll Call

Attendees: Ann King, Marg Willis, Tim Lalonde, Pierre Gratton and Omer Labelle and Jackie Alguire.

Guest: John Alguire

Absent: Luc Leblanc and Marc Dumontier.

3) Agenda

The published agenda was amended with the addition of Children’s Fitness Tax Credit under New Business.

Motion to accept: by Omer Labelle, seconded by Ann King. Unanimous-Carried.

4) Review of Previous Minutes

-April 7, 2008 meeting.

Motion to accept as amended: by Omer Labelle, seconded by Tim Lalonde. Unanimous-Carried.

-April 22, 2008 AGM meeting.

Motion to accept: by Omer Labelle, seconded by Ann King. Unanimous-Carried.

5) Executive Reports

President - Ann King

CTF AGM - Winnipeg

-Changes and additions to CTF awards (new senior awards).

-Reporting prior prize winnings - raised from $300.00 to $600.00.

-Lane Certification change: One lane inspection and at least one lane dressing report per season.

Association Manager - Marg Willis

-Financial statement and report.

-Next Season League Executive Form to be included with Final Average Package.

-Final CDTBA membership for the 2007-2008 season is: 652 bowlers + 2 BB’s.

-Two leagues have yet to submit final averages.

6) Business From Previous Minutes

-Local awards will be ordered ASAP and will be ready for distribution at the start of the next season.

-Next season, we will have two bowlers with 50 years of membership in the CDTBA.

7) Other Business

Association Manager Honorarium/Duties

Discussion in reference to the honorarium and duties of the Association Manager resulting in the following amendment to the “CDTBA Association Manager Job Description”.

The Board may, in consultation with the Association Manager, select additional persons/volunteers to perform parts of the Association Managers’ duties (e.g. awards processing and meeting minutes), but will require the Association Manager to retain responsibility for the activities. If required, prior agreed upon honorariums for selected persons performing parts of the Association Managers’ duties must be approved by the Board and the Association Manager and will be paid by the Association Manager from the Association Manager Hanorarium.

Selection of New Association Manager

-John Alguire was excused from the meeting for this closed session.

-Two applications were received for the CDTBA Association Manager position. Each applicant was separately interviewed by the Board.

-Discussion and voting.

-Votes were counted by Marg Willis (outgoing Association Manager). Marg announced, Pierre Gratton as our new Association Manager as of August 1, 2008.

-Pierre Gratton was congratulated by the Board.

-Marg and Pierre to co-ordinate smooth transition.

-John Alguire re-joined the meeting.

8) New Business

Children’s Fitness Tax Credit

The Canada Revenue Agency has identified tenpin bowling as a sport/activity which is eligible for the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit.

NOTE: Official receipts will be issued by the Capital District Tenpin Bowling Association and must be signed by the Association Manager.

-Lane inspection equipment repairs will be done in the summer.

-CDTBA information poster for the summer.

-Youth Flyer/Youth Leagues.

-Youth Co-ordinator required.

-Anik Lanes - possibly sanctioned.

-Website cost - as existing.

-2010 CTF-AGM and CMC Tournament - obtain bid documents.

-Season summary and comments by all board members.

9) Next Season

-Certified Lane Inspector Course

-NCCP Coaching

-Gerry Rodriquez - try to book him for October

-More tournaments
